Philosophy
Here in Aotearoa/New Zealand we are spoiled with an abundance of rich and diverse land. Whether we own or rent a property, whether we live in a rural or urban environment, most of us have access to a space with potential for conscious, sustainable gardening.
I believe these spaces form an integral part of our personal and national identities and that it is time to reevaluate exactly how we think about, design, build and maintain these environments.
For too long, and far too often we have been at odds with nature and natures regenerative systems. By embracing what nature already does so well I believe we can create more productive, healthier and less resource intensive ecological spaces.
What is Permaculture?
In concrete terms, permaculture means permanent agriculture. The gold standard of permanent agriculture is nature, the native ecological systems that have thrived for millions of years. By tapping into harmonious natural cycles of unchecked ecological systems we aim to create regenerative, sustainable and beautiful environments.
