As my early spring potatoes begin to pop up I'm experimenting with a leaf mulch ground cover that has been brewing away for around six months. (Updated)
Even after all that time they've held their form rigidly so I figure they will provide a wonderful shield for the soft fluffy soil beneath. Hopefully breaking down and contributing to the soil structure as I continue to feed and layer the area immediately around the potatoes as they grow. I'll update this post with each subsequent development.
